How can we help you live your dreams?
During this RRSP season, our team has been meeting with clients to help them decide what type of investment strategy is best suited for each objective of their RRSP. However, this is not true financial planning. It involves a much longer process which takes into account all aspects of a person's finances.
Financial planning is actually the practice of examining the reasons for investing in the first place. In other words, what is your dream? Is it a comfortable retirement, a child's education, a bigger home, a different lifestyle? Dreams are personal, and each one deserves a strategy for realizing it.
We have developed a process to not only look at how to achieve your dreams, but to consider the risks that could prevent those dreams from becoming a reality, such as death of a breadwinner, disability, taxation, high debt cost, critical illness, etc.
If you would like help making your dreams come true, we can work together to develop a strategy.
Some thoughts
Here are some random ideas on wealth management that might be useful:
Risk
Risk is a permanent loss of invested capital, and not any measure of volatility developed by statisticians or academicians.
Two good quotes on risk:
"The way to minimize risk is to think" - Famous investor, Charlie Munger
"You can control risk, but you can't control returns. So why do investors spend so little time on risk and so much time on returns?"
